Library
National Library of Spain
Major digitization project sponsored by the telecommunications company Telefónica.
Approach & Solution
Digitization projects began in the 1990s, but the first major digitization operation began in the 2000s with the historical press collections.
Since 2008, the National Library of Spain has been working on a substantial digitization project with sponsorship from the telecommunications company Telefónica. The National Library provides many different resources for scanning these heritage collections to meet the challenges of productivity – 30,000 pages to digitize daily.
The Digital Department of the National Library of Spain has acquired 4 CopiBooks Open Systems A2 ; 3 SupraScan Quartz A1 and 1 SupraScan Quartz A0.
« Our digitization service is almost exclusively composed of i2s DigiBook scanners with which we digitize 30,000 pages per day »
